Nicolas Vogel has been promoted to full-professor

Nicolas Vogel has been promoted to full-professor and will continue his research at the institute for particle technology, here at FAU.

Nicolas Vogel joined our department in 2014, and his research interest lays in the self-organization of colloidal particles. In particular, he focuses on understanding self-assembly processes to create defined nanostructured materials and surfaces and investigate the emergence of functional properties from such structures. Examples of applications of his findings are controlling the wetting of a surface, creating vivid structural coloration, and fabricating plasmonic nanostructure arrays.
